Between a crazy last week at work, Sarah Palin, the 4th and a few million other things, the blog got neglected. No more.
The holiday was very good – I went to a birthday party for my cousin Eric and Luci’s son Matt. Last July, I spent about 7.5 hours (which is roughly equivalent to seven Law and Orders and two games of BrickBreaker) at Columbia waiting for him to be born. Although Eric and I got some free Wendy’s out of the whole deal, I spent a lot of time at the hospital waiting for him to be born, so I was very happy to be there for his first birthday. Despite liking the wrong baseball team, he is already a hilarious and outgoing kid.
Other than that, we had a solid BBQ on the 4th, with amazing burgers and sausage from Stiles in CT.
As for Palin, I tend to believe that this is just another chapter in her bizarre and rambling collision with the American public. She is clearly not done with national politics – she has fought too many battles with too many people to give up now. As many have speculated, this is either a strategic calculation on her part, or an attempt to get out in front of a scandal that we may or may not ever find out about. Who knows..but either way 2012 should be interesting.
